Did you know… did you hear?
This was our first full season with four of our beautiful safari tents. We had Grandparents, Parents & children taking the whole site on occasion which was just perfect for a feeling of exclusivity and security. This arrangement worked well with some friendship groups who could all have their own living space but enjoy the two meadows all to themselves as a fun gang without outsiders interrupting that all important game of rounders!
Mid March 2018 began with us scrapping the snow off our tent canopies with a giant 12ft rake that Will & Ollie quickly made for us when the cold snap suddenly hit us hard.
We blinked and missed the short Spring but enjoyed the most wonderful warm weather for most of the long Summer.
Autumn showed itself in all its beauty giving our wellie-clad guests stunning visual memories from our raised deck over the river. The biggest skies didn't disappoint with star shows a-plenty.
Thank you to all our guests who came to stay this year, we look forward to welcoming old friends and new in March 2019.

Off-Grid & Eco
The construction and operation of our tents and site can boast that 85% of all wood, materials, staff, labour, products and supplies are sourced from the Isle of Wight, the rest from the UK.
We use our two efficient solar panels to provide stored power for a fixed point power light in each room plus 2 USB charging points. This ensures our guests have some light & phone charge.
Our fridge & two ring gas hob are gas powered.
Our water is heated by a wood burner situated in the family bathroom which also keeps the rear half of the tent warm.
Our outdoor shower is gas fired.
Guests cooking and heating is on the other wood burning stove which is situated in the kitchen/ dining area. All of the wood, briquettes & lump wood charcoal that we supply are from the Island.
We supply a variety of wind-up & solar powered torches.
All of our 'candles' are LED lights.
We are a pet free & vehicle free site.

In terms of kitting them out they really have thought of everything. The location is fantastic and the children have so much space and freedom to roam. There are so many local places for fantastic day trips & bike rides.
The experience exceeded all our expectations & we were so impressed with the level of service.
Our children had the best half term...not even Storm Brian could put us off! We are already looking forward to coming back next year & will be recommending you to all our friends."

Ideal to let go and just appreciate the essential things in life, just in finer detail! Nothing was too much trouble to the GTWW Team too. Top marks! We felt refreshed, despite travelling with a toddler and a baby! So that says a lot".

My lovely friend Annie worked hard for weeks making our beautiful blinds. Annie carefully sourced textured and complimentary fabrics & a lovely tweed type linen ribbon. Bedroom blinds have blackout lining to help settle those little ones down during the late & light summer nights.
Just when she thought it was all finished we ordered our next two tents for 2018 season. Twenty Two more blinds please Annie……
Our charming friend Will created all of the wooden furniture, fixtures and fittings in both of our tents and made our ranch-style entrance! Just like Annie, he is now working on more of the same for our next two tents. We keep him happy with plenty of coffee, cake and sausages for his dog Tess. Our amazing furniture & woodwork was lovingly made by Will Headington contactable on Instagram @willswoodwork
