Our 'House rules' - in short:
Please read to the bottom of this page for a more detailed explanation of our terms of let for Glamping The Wight Way. Following these rules means that ALL our guests can fully enjoy their stay with us.
Social distancing and COVID-19 guidelines must always be followed during your stay. Our site is set up in such a way that we can keep guests separated with plenty of wild space between tents. We ask that if you or anyone within your household or your group and their households have shown any COVID-19 symptoms in the run up to your stay with us, please get in touch as soon as possible on - 07585 956141
Due to the updated regulations on COVID-19, we require the names, addresses, and contact details of ALL members of your group staying with us. (These details will be kept in accordance with our GDPR and Government COVID-19 guidelines.)
A maximum of 8 guests (including infants) are to occupy our tents.
We are a family glamping site, thus reserve the right to refuse group bookings we feel may be of detriment to other guests. We do not accept Stag or Hen party groups. However, if you are looking to book multiple tents to occupy a multi-generational family group, do get in touch via our Contact Us page.
The 'Responsible Person' should be at least 18 years of age and be present throughout the whole of your stay with us.
Please keep noise to a minimum after 10:30pm and before 08:00am. Our guests are looking for a place to relax and recharge We also have our farmland and wildlife neighbours to consider.
Check in times are between 16:30pm & 19:00pm (We will work with you on your day of arrival to ensure our guests are kept separated during this time and so that multiple groups aren't arriving at the same time.)
Check out is to be no later than 09:30am on the date of your departure. This time has been put in place to allow our cleaning teams as much time between guests as possible. We have implemented additional cleaning procedures in light of COVID-19. Please remember to keep social distancing measures in place between you and other guests and staff during check out.
Due to our remote location with small country lane and zero street lighting, local delivery companies do not serve the camp. There is an array of eateries, shops, and takeaways (who offer collection) within a short walk or drive of our site in Freshwater and Yarmouth.
There is a strict 'NO SMOKING' rule for the entire site, within the tents, decks, or grounds of the Glamp site. This includes E-Cigarettes. Please leave the site entirely. The fire pits and BBQ's are not to be left unattended at any time while lit.
Fire - No naked flames are permitted within 4 metres of our canvas lodges. It is also not permitted at any time to use any form of naked flame on site, eg Chinese Lanterns, candles, disposable BBQ's, your own gas cooking equipment, fireworks or flares except for the provided Kadai fire bowl or BBQ and wood burners. (We are situated on a working farm with livestock close by, farm buildings, hay stores, natural woodland and grassy areas all being at risk.)
We do not allow any visitors on site during your stay. Our insurances cover paying guests only.
Due to our site being on a working farm with livestock, we do not allow any dogs or pets onsite.
We do not allow the use of any drones, kites, or similar devices on site.
Terms and Conditions of Let for Glamping The Wight Way Ltd Safari Tents
Reviewed - June 23rd, 2020 as a result of Government instruction as a result of the Covid 19 Pandemic. An outline of our Covid Safe procedures are included:
The contract for a short term holiday rental will be between Glamping the Wight Way Ltd. ( referred to as "us" or "we") and the person making the booking and all members of the holiday party ( referred to as "you","your" or "guests"), under the following booking conditions. U.K law will govern the contract. The contract will be subject to these booking conditions, and must be complied with. The person who's name is on the booking form (referred to as the "responsible person") agrees to take full responsibility for ensuring that all of the following Terms and Conditions are adhered to by all members of the party. The responsible person must personally stay at the accommodation throughout the holiday and be at least 18 years of age at the time of booking. The names, addresses, emails and phone numbers of all members of the group must be shared with the Owners on request.
Bookings & Payments - To secure your booking a deposit of 25% of the cost of your stay is required at which point a confirmation email will be sent. We do not take provisional bookings. Balance payments are due 6 weeks before your arrival date. If the booking is less than 6 weeks from the date of your stay the full price of the stay is required at the time of booking. If the balance is not paid by the due date Glamping The Wight Way reserves the right to re-let the lodge and retain the deposit. We recommend you take our your own holiday cancellation insurance, just as you would for a holiday abroad. The prices featured on the website are not binding; we reserve the right to modify these prices. At the time of booking you will be informed of the prices applicable. We only accepts bookings from persons over 18 years of age and reserve the right, at all times, without statement of reasons, to refuse or cancel a booking. For insurance and comfort reasons, a maximum of 8 guests including infants can occupy the tent. No visitors are allowed onto the site or tents during the Covid Pandemic.
Group bookings - We are a family glamping site. It is the right of Glamping The Wight Way to refuse group bookings if we feel that this may be of detriment to other guests staying on the site.
Stag, Hen or Party Type Groups - We do not accept hen or stag party style groups. We are a family glamping site, however we will consider single sex & group bookings - please email me with the request. If you wish to book 2 or more tents or even the whole site please call or email us as this cannot be done on our online booking system. We will be happy to discuss your requirements or special occasion. We ask that guests keep noise to a minimum after 10.30pm and before 8am, in consideration of others.
Arrival Times - Our check-in time is between 4.30pm 7:00pm. We will liaise with you on the day to plan to keep all arriving guests separated at this time. It is very important to plan your journey so that you arrive during the daylight. Arriving and settling into your lodge is an adventure; from arriving at the entrance, navigating the track to the parking area, to unloading your luggage and wheel barrowing everything up the meadow, it's all part of the experience and much easier during daylight as our site is pitch black once the sun goes down. We will issue guests with the gate code, safe key and tent keys on arrival so please let us know when you have boarded your ferry to ensure that we are there to greet you. Social distancing must be practised by all guests during their stay with us.
Departure Time - Guests are requested to vacate their lodge by 9:30am on the date of their departure. Please consider the other glampers when leaving to avoid a bottle neck at the entrance gate. Our cleaning staff will require access to your lodge from 9:30am. This time has been brought forward due to additional cleaning procedures for COVID-19 including the use of a disinfecting fogging machine before the main clean & changeover takes place.
Food Deliveries - We cannot take food or other deliveries due to our location, the long narrow lane and lack of turning space. We do not have street lighting.
Smoking, Fires, Naked Flames & Guests Own Cooking Equipment - Smoking or e- cigarettes are not permitted any where on the site, within the tent or on the deck. Please do not leave the fire pit or bbq unattended. The fire pit/bbq should remain in the dedicated specifically designed area. No naked flames of any type are permitted on the decks or within 4 metres of the canvas lodges. It is not permitted to use any form of naked flame for example; Chinese lanterns, candles, fireworks, flares etc except the provided kadai fire bowl/bbq and wood burners. We are located on a working farm with livestock, farm buildings and hay stores close by. Disposable BBQ's or your own pizza oven, gas cooking equipment is not permitted as such equipment is not covered by our insurance or safety/risk assessments.
Number Of Persons Using The Lodges - For insurance & comfort reasons, no more than 8 persons including infants can occupy the lodge. We reserve the right to refuse admission if this condition is not observed. Any persons other than members of your party must not use the facilities at Glamping The Wight Way. Visitors are not allowed.
Dogs & Pets - We are unable to accept any dogs or pets due to the terms of our lease on the working farm & livestock movements.
Drones, Kites or Similar - These can not be operated in the meadows where the safari lodges are located as there are overhead electricity cables.
Cancellation Policy for bookings made with a check-in date on or before 31st July 2020. Cancellations must be immediately notified to us by email. If we are able to re-let your dates, we will refund you the final letting price which maybe less than you paid, less an administration fee of £50. If we are unable to re-let, you remain responsible for the full rental cost and there will be no refunds under any circumstances. We strongly suggest that you take out your own holiday insurance. We reserve the right to cancel a booking where payment has not been received 6 weeks before the arrival date, in which case the initial booking deposit is forfeit. No entry to the tents will be allowed without full payment prior to arrival date.
New Refund Cancellation Policy for New Bookings Only made from June 23rd 2020 with a check-in date on or after August 1st 2020. We are protected by Master Cancel which removes the stress and worry from booking your next holiday rental. You can cancel up to and including 2 full days before the check in date. Master Cancel's flexible terms & Conditions allow you to book with confidence, knowing that if you cancel for unforeseen circumstances, we will refund you. We will be able to offer a full refund of any money paid towards the cost of the rental of your property or properties for any cancellation reason between 60 days and 2 days prior to your arrival date. A minimum of 25% booking deposit is required to be eligible for the refund. Only lodging costs are refunded. Additional extras, including but not limited to travel, cleaning fees, taxes and other ancillary charges will not be refunded.
Master Cancel Terms & Conditions are as follows -
Refund Payments for cancelled bookings 61 days or more before check in date will be released to the cancelling guest within 5 days of when the cancellation is made.
Refund Payments for cancelled bookings from 60 days up to and including 2 days before check in date will be released back to the cancelling guest on the scheduled date of check-out of the original booking.
- Cancellations made 1 day prior to or the day of check-in will not be eligible for refund. Example: For a check in on Saturday, Guests could cancel the prior Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, but not Friday (1 day prior) or Saturday (day of check in).
- Guests must cancel their reservation by notifying Glamping The Wight Way by email that they wish to cancel and must be in receipt of an email of confirmation back from Glamping The Wight Way Ltd.
Circumstances Beyond The Control Of The Owner ( Force Majeure)
If for any reason WE have to cancel your booking in advance due to circumstances beyond our control for example fire, flood, exceptional weather conditions, destruction/ damage to the property (force majeure), you will be refunded the full amount of the booking. If we have to terminate your holiday early for the above reasons whilst in residence, you will be refunded part of the booking fee based on the time remaining of the booking. This will be the full extent of the liability of the owners. No additional compensation , expenses or costs will be payable. We recommend that you have appropriate holiday insurance cover just as you would for a holiday abroad.
Liability - As far as the law allows, Glamping The Wight Way Ltd, its employees and representatives shall not be liable to you or your group for loss, damage, or injury to you or any of your party or you/their property or vehicles as a consequence of this agreement or the occupancy following thereon. You indemnify Glamping The Wight Way against loss, damage or injury sustained to the lodges and site, or any persons as a result of any breach of these conditions or arising from the fault of you or any member or your group.
Assumption of Risks - Children must be supervised at all times - the surrounding fields are strictly out of bounds. We are a working farm with farm machinery using the lane and accessing the surrounding fields at any time. You will be staying on a working farm with live animals within a potentially dangerous farm environment with equipment amongst other natural hazards. Whilst we take great care to keep you safe, accidents can happen and we are not held responsible for such accidents to the greatest extent by law. You must inform us if you notice that any Glamping The Wight Way property or equipment is faulty and/or unsafe. We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. We shall be allowed reasonable entry to the tents for purposes of inspection, necessary repairs or maintenance. We would contact you to make arrangements unless it was deemed an emergency.
Damage - Should any facilities, equipment, or inventory, be damaged wilfully, as a result of inappropriate usage or behaviour, or a as a direct result of failing to respond to instructions from Company staff you will be held responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of that item. The company cannot accept responsibility from any loss, damage, or expense arising from industrial action, terrorist activity, adverse weather conditions or any other event outside the control of the company.
Validity clause - In the event that a court finds that a condition in these Booking Conditions is illegal or void, the illegal or void provision will be severed from the remainder of the Booking Conditions, which will continue to be valid and have full force and effect.
Complaints & Queries - If you have any problem or cause for complaint, it is essential that you contact us immediately to give us the chance to resolve it. We do not live on the farm, by we are always nearby and will do our best to resolve any problem. We are contactable during 9am - 7pm on 07585 956141 or by email using firstname.lastname@example.org.

General - In the event that any individual term or clause stated in these terms and conditions of let is not permissible by law, the remainder of the agreement shall remain valid.
Right Of Entry - We shall be allowed reasonable right of entry to the lodges at all reasonable times for purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance. We would contact you to make arrangements in such circumstances unless it was deemed an emergency.
Accuracy Of Details - The website is as accurate as possible but cannot be warranted, nor do the descriptions form any contract. Whilst every effort is made to ensure accuracy of property details, descriptions and images, the facilities and services may alter. We reserve the right to alter improve any of the subjects without notice. The booking agreement confers the right to occupy the lodges for the agreed period only. We reserve the right to charge for overstays. You undertake to use the lodges solely for their purpose of self-catering accommodation and to accept the owner's right to refuse access to the accommodation to any person, whether the responsible person or guest of the responsible person, deemed unsuitable. Causing a nuisance or disturbance to neighbours or any unreasonable behaviour may result in the owner requiring the responsible person or their guests to leave the site.
Children - Our website is not targeted at children but in any event personal information will not knowingly be collected from children without parental consent.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic. We have conducted a Risk Assessment to help keep our guests, staff and ourselves safe. We have implemented new procedures following Government advice for non-healthcare environments.
If anyone in your group are showing symptoms prior to your arrival date they and their household should follow the latest Government advice from gov.uk. Our glamping tents are without electricity and not deemed suitable for anyone with illness. Anyone displaying symptoms during their stay with us must immediately follow government guidance from gov.uk and return home with your group staying in your car as much as possible. You must immediately inform Glamping The Wight Way in order that the correct cleaning provision can be made. You will not be refunded for the remaining duration of your booking. You should take out appropriate holiday insurance prior to staying.
- All of our canvas lodges are well spaced internally and externally with private bathroom, cooking, outside dining & bbq/fire pit cooking facilities.
- We will be using a disinfecting fogging machine between each booking during the changeover procedure.
- In our canvas lodges highly touched spaces and hard surfaces will be cleaned then disinfected with cleaning products that conform to the appropriate standards, as recommended by W.H.O and that are used in health care settings.
- Guidance will be in place within the canvas lodges to remind guests of personal hygiene (hand washing) which is paramount to stopping the spread of COVID-19. Hand sanitiser stations have been installed at the foot on each tent on the handrail bannister and higher traffic areas such as either side of the entrance gate.
- Check-out will be earlier at 9.30am and a slight delay in check in time period to 4.30pm to 7pm.
- Socially distanced check-ins & practice social distancing during your stay.
- We will be sending you a link to Glamping The Wight Way App to download before you leave home with all the information that you need with regards to your canvas lodge and how everything within it operates. We recommend that all adults within your group download our app and take a look before arriving. Instructional videos on the use of our unusual equipment are included which are vital to have to prevent the need for us to enter your tent for the briefing, thus preventing too many people in the tent from different households at one time.
- We request that on departure day, that all beds are stripped of all bed linen and bagged up in the large clear bags with all towels (used or not). This is to reduce the contact that our staff have with used fabrics. These bags are in the bathroom cupboard and have been disinfected between guests. Please put these full bags out onto the front deck.
